The Big Bang of the Marvel Universe I originally owned this book when I was 11 years old, and actually bought it by mistake, thinking it was the sequel - SON OF ORIGINS OF MARVEL COMICS - which my cousins owned and which I had read years before. I even remember the trip we took to the local comics shop, specifically so I could get this volume. Far from being dissappointed, I was entrhalled at the chance to become acquainted with the background of characters I already knew and adored.Stan Lee's imagination was the Big Bang from whi
Updates are worth it! I have the original hardcover first print, so this update clarified some origin credits for me.
Interesting and Entertaining (update) I read (and still have) the original publications of "Origins" and "Son of Origins." If you like Stan Lee comics, you'll enjoy his intro to stories from the beginning of the marvel universe. I would ignore the Stan Lee haters, who would have you believe that basically all Stan did was slap his name on other people's work. There are unbiased bios out there that show while Stan wasn't perfect by any means he was indeed the creative genius behind early Marvel in the 1960s, with a lot of help from a
Product is in *great* shape! Product arrived much more quickly than I had expected and is in *great* shape. You'd never guess this is a twenty-year-old printing of a forty-year-old book. Very happy with the purchase!
Another Jack Kirby masterpiece. Why is there to say that hasn’t already been said? Kirby knocks it put of the park and Stan Lee takes all the credit.
A very good edition of a great book for comics fans. I bought the original softbound edition within a month of it being released (not many bookstores carried it and I had to travel to our local big city to find it and it was worth the effort then). Now, everyone seems to carry it, and it is a well bound book that has essential comic historical value even today. Highly recommended!
terrific childhood revisited I had the original edition as a kid, and to relive this collection as an adult is a comfort!
A beautiful new edition of a classic book A glorious new printing of Stan Lee's classic book that reprints complete origin stories of Marvel's main Silver Age superheroes. Having a beautiful and very solid hardcover to re-read these classic epics filled with breathtaking art by Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko that is propelled along with Stan Lee's clever dialogue is a true joy to experience, especially as the first edition hardcover from 1974 will set you back a few hundred dollars; that is, IF you can find one! I was disappointed to see
