Premium performance at budget price My smartphone came with USB-C cable but it's only rated USB 2.0. I wanted a faster transfer speed and this monoprice cable is rated USB 3.1. A quick benchmark shows it can transfer at a faster rate. It charges my phone about the same as the original cable. The monoprice is twice the thickness and stiffer but feels more rugged. I got the 3 ft long for $3.

Really helped when transferring files to my Oculus Quest The cable that came with the Oculus Quest was only USB 2.0 for some reason. Using this cable connected to a USB 3 port made the job of copying files over much more manageable.
A good cable with questionable quality control I got this cable for an external drive dock, not charging, and it appears to be working well at USB 3 speed.However this is a replacement because the first cable I received (white, if it matters) caused my PC to instantly reboot the moment it was plugged in, presumably from a short that tripped a protection circuit. That problem should have been detected in quality control, so minus one star.
Works well with Pixel 3XL Charges without any technical issues, though not "fast charge." Have not had a chance to use for rapid data transfer yet.
