Big sound and clear display I was completely taken back by how amazing the video and sound quality is on this device. It sounds like having an IMAX theater packed into this little screen. I mean The base can actually shake my glasses. It is super easy to use, especially if you have previous Alexa devices. It is completely compatible with all of my smart appliances. Totally worth it!!
Read before you "upgrade"... I've never had an Echo Show 8, so I bought the 3rd Gen (2023) at a big discount while waiting for the new 2025 model to come available. I'm really glad I had some time with the 2023 3rd Gen because I think it is superior in most ways... and the things that really needed improvement (touch screen, UI) were not noticably better in the new model. Additionally, my brand new one shipped with a microphone error that is apparently a long-standing hardware issue on previous gen models. (REALLY!?)Here

Overall I’m happy with the device I’ve had the Echo Show 8 for about a week. This is my first Echo with a screen. I will be keeping it as it works well overall. I agree with many reviewers that it is hard to set up. The Amazon plugs are no problem to run, but I have other Apple products and Amazon doesn’t really play nicely with them.Calendar was a nightmare to install and even after linking I had to manually enter events via voice on my echo. Not perfect but a FANTASTIC value. I am not sure why there would be any negative reviews with regard to the Echo Show 11. It isn’t perfect but it sure is a tremendous value. Needed a device to view my Blink camera without having my phone or computer. I really am enjoying the newest version of the Echo Show 8. The whole experience with it is brilliant, and I don’t like talking to devices. I just find it weird. That being said, the picture is beautiful. Best Echo Upgrade! This happens to be the best Echo device I got. The pre-set up was so smooth and it was very easy and simple. It connected to my wifi very quickly and it fit into that slot in my dresser very well. The sound is a lot better than the echo show 5 so it was an improvement by far. It is also a lot faster than the 5 so that is also an improvement which I really appreciate! I really love the design as well. So if you want a great upgrade from the 5 then I really recommend this!
