I purchased a 3# bag from Amazon in Sept, 2012 with a 5/22/12 manufacture date and a 5/22/2013 best by date. The seeds looked and smelled fine, but had a terribly strong bitter taste. Fresh and tasty, so easy to make hempseed milk! My YA child introduced me to hempseed, and so I tried this. They blend about 1-2 T of hempseed with water in the Vitamix (or blender on high) to make hemp milk, since they don't do dairy. It was surprisingly tasty and I used it in recipes while they were here visiting as a milk replacement. Hempseed is super nutritious and slightly nutty, and can be added to most anything.
