No complaints - time will tell on longevity. This is my first time milling anything. The mill worked well first time out of the box. The mill feels a little flimsy - time will tell on durability. I will only mill 2-3 cups a few times a month, so I expect it to last a long time. Today, I milled 2 cups of hard red wheat. As per the instructions, I milled at setting 5/6 first and then re-milled at level 1/2 which yielded flour as fine as anything store-bought. Easy to use and clean This is my first time to try to mill my own grain for sourdough bread and it turned out great. It fits my classic Kitchenaid stand mixer. I milled some wheat berries and used their recommendations for the different levels of grinding. I only milled 3 cups of wheat berries. The attachment cleans well too with a brush included. There are different levels to mill, from 1- 9 I think.
It's ok Says to wash it before use. Also says don't take screw F apart. There are no actual disassembly instructions. So which is it? How do I wash it if I can't get it apart? The little scoop chute at the bottom keeps falling off. It's also bent.I was out of time and needed it so no time for a return. I washed and tried it out. It's actually not so bad. I changed my stars from one to four because it works well. I ran the grain through it three times, each time changing the dial to a finer grit. It's go
Grinds well, just not flour I was truly excited to grind my own flour and bought wheat berries in a can. The grinder works well, however, is not strong enough to grind it into fine flour for baking. For other purposes it does great.
Works great for small batches of coarse flour As with all kitchaid products, it is stury, well made, easy to use. Works great for occasional use. It is capable of producing a coarse flour. If you are planning to only use your own milled flour all the time, you will want a stand alone unit that is quicker and can handle more grain at a time.
