Defective item Do not buy stop working after first job company would not replace
Works, unfortunately had to use twice I experienced two water leaks within our home over the last couple of months and this device has functioned well in both modes, probe and spherical depth detect mode. It successfully identified wet drywall and also moisture under tiles and hardwood floors. I would purchase again.
Couldn't program Build quality seemed cheap for an almost $200.00 piece of equipment. When I attempted to take readings the unit would power off too quickly. I attempted to get into the set up menu as per the very lacking included instructions and could not get it to accept any changes. It would just power off. Contacted support via email and recieved a very quick response, which was nice. But, even after I followed the instructions provided, the unit would not accept changes and would power off. this item is amazing. You know Really folks, this item is amazing. You know, I went on line to search for something that I was not quite sure what range of equipment to get. I am a plumbing contractor yet I only specialize in Service and Repair in a smaller community and did not want to sink to much money into something that I might not use very much.Well, needless to say, this thing is the bomb. And I haven't even found the necessity to use the wire attachment with the pins. But, knowing how good this device is, the attachme
A must have DIY tool for flood prone homeowners We purchased this for home use only. After hurricanes Helene and Milton, Florida Gulf Coast regions are hard hit with water damage. It's valuable for the homeowner as a tool to make sure the insurance adjuster is seeing everything. Very, very easy to understand and use. Worth the money as insurance against the insurance company, IMHO.
Seems Good But I am not Sure about MMD950 I am still not sure how reliable the relative reading is. No matter what area of the wall, even furniture, I touch the ball to I get a reading of between 15-17%. I know there is likely moisture in every material but for walls that don't face the outside, i.e. truly inside walls, and because I have radiator heating which can lower the humidity significantly, it surprises me that I always measure a noticeable moisture level reading.I haven't at all being successful using the pins in a surface to r
Great tool at a great price I bought this to evaluate our fiberglass boat for leaks and water damage around the mast and chain plates. But our boat is under 12 inches of snow right now. So I tried it out in our bathroom where I have a known water problem. I used the ball to map the extent of a place where we get occasional leaking from ice daming. Yes, the water damage is still there, no surprise. I also was able to detect about twice as much moisture under the floor tiles directly in front of the shower when compared
Why I chose this meter over the FLIR MR59 -- A MUST HAVE FOR HOME INSPECTORS! I apologize to readers in advance for the lengthy post but I feel like providing the background on which I formed my opinion will be more helpful to you than just my opinion alone.I have used the MMD950 before, many times, while doing home inspections with another inspector. It was his device and I always found myself needing to grab it out of his bag in order to verify the findings of my own moisture meter.I finally decided it was time to get my own BUT then I saw that Flir manufactures a simil
